Dinner at Cary Masjid to Honor our Respected Elders (65+ years) – April 15, 2017
Among the many virtuous deeds in Islamic traditions is to respect and honor our elders. RasulAllahSAW said: “Al barkatuhu maa akabir kum (Blessings are with your elders.” Also, RasulAllahSAW said: “He does not belong to us who does not show mercy to our young ones and respect to our old ones…..” [Tirmidhi].
As our community matures, this role of honoring our elders needs to be among our highest priorities. With this sincere objective, Islamic Association of Cary has planned to host an elegant evening with the respected members of our community. It’s a humble and modest way to show our respect to them and acknowledge that they are loved and valued.
We invite all our respected elders in the extended community who are privileged to be 65+ years of age to join us for a formal dinner on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 6:00 pm. The dinner will follow with some entertaining activities to make the gathering livelier.
